The main aim of Ahimsa is to inspire, facilitate, and support non-violent and loving relationships so as to enhance the wellbeing of all concerned.
The two areas of specialised work within the service are:
- Behaviour and Attitudinal change for those who are/have been domestically abusive
- Work with the partners, ex-partners (and parents, where relevant) of these clients. Offering information, support, safety planning, trauma recovery, and pattern-changing work.
Both sides of the service work in close liaison with each other, jointly planning to manage risk, understand the dynamics in the relationships, and identify helpful interventions on both sides of the work to achieve the best outcomes for the families and individuals involved.
We are able to work with people and families that are still in relationships, separated, or in the process of separating.
There are three main projects that we offer:
- The Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Programme (DAPP) and the Partner Service (PS)—medium risk
- High Risk High Harm (HRHH) and the IDVA service
- Inside Out and the Affected Others Service-for 16-25 year olds
