My name is Claire and I am a fully qualified and insured Reflexologist, and I have a beautiful private treatment room based next to my home in the Elburton area of Plymstock, which is on the outskirts of Plymouth and bordering the South Hams. I am also a member of the Association of Reflexologists.
I moved to South Devon fro the Midlands nearly three years ago with my family and we love living in this beautiful part of the country.
My aim is to help you achieve a healthier, happier and more balanced lifestyle through the use of Reflexology. The treatment is tailored completely to you. It's your space and my aim is help you achieve what you want from it.
Reflexology is a safe and natural treatment using a technique of gentle pressure to reflex areas on the feet. I am continually amazed by its effectiveness across a very broad range of client health issues.
Complementary therapies nowadays are considered less than a luxury more a healthcare option. Although never to replace medical care or diagnosis but to work alongside the medical profession.
About Reflexology
Reflexology is a complementary therapy, which means that it works best when used alongside your normal healthcare plan. It is based on the theory that different zones on your feet or hands represent different organs and systems in your body. By applying special massage techniques to these areas, the reflexologist hopes to have an energetic effect on the organs and systems they represent.
There's a lot of ways that reflexology can support you and together we can work out how it can best help you. So if that's a time for you to have complete relaxation in your busy week, or If it's supporting you and your body to provide a good foundation for dealing with illness or injury, I can provide that.
Reflexology may help with many common health issues:
- Anxiety, Depression and Stress
- Headaches/Migraines
- Hormonal Imbalance
- Insomnia
- Fluid retention
- Backache/Sciatica
How does Reflexology work?
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing; by reducing stress in people's lives can be key in optimising good health and building resilience. It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body and reflexologists work these points and areas.
However reflexology is viewed, there can be no doubt that what it does provide is a period of time for relaxation where the client has one-on-one attention and supportive touch in an empathetic listening environment. Reflexology can be used safely alongside standard healthcare to promote better health for their clients.
Reflexology can be surprising with its effects!
Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeing your doctor or taking medical advice. It is a complementary therapy and can be used alongside other medical treatments.
