Buses

• Plymouth City Bus: With over 150 buses operating daily on 90 routes, Plymouth City Bus provides comprehensive coverage across the city. Buses are wheelchair accessible and accommodate some Class 2 scooters.
• Help-Me Cards: If you are hard of hearing, have difficulty speaking, or are visually impaired, utilise these cards for discreet communication with bus drivers. Available free of charge.

Blue Badge Scheme

Plymouth City Council manages the Blue Badge scheme, allowing individuals with disabilities to park closer to their destinations. Check your eligibility.

Community transport solutions

• Dial-A-Ride: A door-to-door service for elderly and disabled residents eligible for a concessionary bus pass who find public transport challenging. Book in advance; journeys are charged at a mileage rate.
• Community Car: A car sharing scheme using volunteer drivers. Journeys must be booked and are charged at £1.20 per mile.
• Shopmobility: Rent scooters and wheelchairs for use in Plymouth city centre. Registration and fees apply.

Innovative and eco-friendly transport

• Connect Plymouth Electric Car Club: A fleet of new electric cars available for hourly rental. A comfortable and greener way to travel around Plymouth. Provided by Co Wheels CIC.
• Beryl E-bike hire: Electric bikes are located at park bays across the city, perfect for commuting, leisurely rides, and tackling Plymouth's hills.

• Walking and cycling: For short journeys, walking and cycling offer fantastic ways to stay active and enjoy Plymouth's beauty.
• Adult cycling: Plymotion offers free group and individual cycle training sessions and bike maintenance courses, ensuring cycling is accessible to all ages.
