Active Assistance places people at the heart of the services we offer and designs packages of care around their care needs and personal preferences. This means we are able to support a care team on a 'live in' or 'live out' basis.
We employ a clinical team that supervises the service we provide, each with specialist skills and knowledge relevant to the client group we support. Our clinical experts work with the NHS, CCG's, local authorities, and other stakeholders to provide the highest quality continuing healthcare in the community. Structured, well-planned home healthcare is both safer for service users and more cost-effective than hospital care.
Live in care and support
A live-in personal assistant (PA) lives with you in your own home and allows you, or your family member, to stay in familiar surroundings with a bespoke level of one-to-one support so that you are able to live an independent and active life.
PA's duties may include getting you in and out of bed, washing, dressing, cleaning, shopping, toileting, and general everyday living activities, as well as specialist clinical tasks such as bowel management and tracheostomy care. It may also be necessary to accompany you to work, social events, appointments, or even on holiday. The PA is there to help you do what you want to do, be it preparing your favourite meal or going out shopping. You will be encouraged to do as much as you can for yourself.
Conditions we support
Active supports people with complex and continuing care needs across its residential, supported living, and care in the home service provision.
Residential services specialties include brain injury, spinal injury, epilepsy, and learning difficulties.
Care in the home offers person-centred care, either through live-in or live-out care packages, to adults and children with a wide range of complex health conditions, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurodegenerative diseases, respiratory conditions, and gastro-intestinal conditions, including PEG feeding.
About the Active Care Group
Active Care Group is the leading national provider of complex care. We provide specialist support to adults and children with acquired brain injury, spinal injury, epilepsy, learning and/or physical disabilities, and those requiring ventilation.
We offer a fully integrated pathway of support, ensuring continuity of care and rehabilitation when leaving the hospital, along with flexible care and accommodation options to meet long-term and changing needs.
Underpinned by clinicians, therapists, and nurses, we aim to drive standards of care in the home and in residential and supported living settings. Our case management teams are also able to help get the right package of care in place.
Unlike many domiciliary care agencies, we employ a nursing team and therapists who supervise the service we provide to our clients. Each member of our nursing team has specialist skills and knowledge relevant to the client group we support.
