We accept new referrals from the local community, hospital, Plymouth City Council, Continuing Health Care, and Cornwall County Council. We will also accept referrals from outside the county.
We aim to provide a responsive service by ensuring that each service user receives a person-centred approach and a personalised care package, which will be regularly reviewed to ensure that the service we are providing is consistent.
All service users will be encouraged to be involved in making decisions about their care from the offset, if they have the capacity to do so. If not, then we will involve the families where possible and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure we maintain good working relationships and meet their care needs. We will support the individuals to have access to ongoing health care and support.
We encourage all of our service users to access and participate in community activities, enabling them to maintain and build good relations within the community. A local group called "Active for Life" promotes team-building activities on a day-to-day basis, and all of our service users will be given the opportunity to attend. There are also disco's 3 times a week and a drop-in service twice a week, which we can assist them in attending if they wish.
Our home is a safe and caring environment that service users can call home. We ensure their safety by having well-trained staff who have the right knowledge and skills to be able to protect them from harm. We have a very robust recruitment process, of which our service users are part. All of our staff receive mandatory training and an induction, as well as completing the care certificate and having an enhanced DBS check prior to employment, along with two references.
We have the right equipment to manage their individual needs effectively, and we have ensured any adaptations in the home have been carried out. When moving into Inglenook, the service user will be given the choice of décor for their room so they can make it personalised. It is our aim to provide a homely atmosphere, and therefore personal belongings are welcome and encouraged to help create this feel.
Our service strives to ensure that we have an open house policy by ensuring family, friends, and visitors are welcomed and accommodated, and their privacy is promoted.
