A Short Break can range from two hours, a day activity, overnight, or longer depending on the circumstances and needs of the child or young person and their family. It can be time spent away from the home, in the community, or in the home with or without the main carer.

Skills Launchpad Plymouth

Skills Launchpad Plymouth offers targeted support for young people aged 16 to 24-years-old, including those with additional needs, through the Youth Hub and supports those aged 25 and older who are seeking work, facing redundancy, or changing careers through the Adult Hub.

Social and sheltered housing

Social housing provides affordable housing for those with low incomes or specific needs, open to families, individuals, and the elderly. Sheltered housing is designed for older individuals, typically aged 55+, who can live independently but may need some support.

Something's gone wrong with a purchase

The Southway Community and Family Hub is located in Southway and operated by the Southway Community Group.

Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)

A SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) is a teacher who is responsible for coordinating support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in their school or setting. This includes pupils at SEN Support and those with an Education, Health and Care Plan.

Special Schools in Plymouth

A Special Schools provides education specifically for students with more complex learning needs that cannot be met in a mainstream school environment.

Specialist Support Centres in Plymouth

Each Support Centres is attached to a mainstream school, so that pupils who attend have the opportunity to work alongside other mainstream pupils, whilst attending specialist groups and classes.
