Specialist Support Centres in Plymouth

In addition to the seven Special Schools, Plymouth has 10 Specialist Support Centres covering a range of special educational needs. Each of these Support Centres is attached to a mainstream school, so that pupils who attend have the opportunity to work alongside other mainstream pupils, whilst attending specialist groups and classes with specialist teachers and health professionals.

To attend a Specialist Support Centre, pupils have to be allocated a place through the local authority's special educational needs admissions panel. Your child will usually hold an Education, Health and Care Plan. You can speak to the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) at your child's setting or school for more details about this.
