Class teachers adapt the curriculum for all children in their class through high quality, scaffolded support teaching. The children are involved in the complete a 'one page profile' which shares information they want teachers and staff in school to know about their needs. Provision is mapped out on a class provision plan which ensures needs are met. Edukey targets are shared electronically in co-production with parents and children and reviewed at least three times a year.
We also have nurture groups and service children groups to support them during times of emotional difficulty or loss. Nurture groups can help children who have difficulty socialising with their friends. We also support children with emotional difficulties such as anxiety, bereavement and personal trauma. Activities may include cooking, sewing, art and sport. This can help children develop their sense of self-belief and help develop skills for children to engage in school life.
Plymouth uses an orange 'Local Offer icon' to show services that define themselves as suitable for children and young people with SEND. These are part of Plymouth's SEND Local Offer. We recommend that you contact the service provider to make sure the service is suitable for your child or young person.
