The Mount Street school community is one in which everyone is valued and belongs. We are proud to be an inclusive school and a school of sanctuary (the first school in the south-west to achieve this).
We are proud of the community spirit that exists and of how everyone involved in our school works together to create and maintain a broad and balanced curriculum that caters to the needs of our children at this time while preparing them for the future world in which they will live. We believe that every child should learn the skills for lifelong learning and be supported to develop into good citizens who contribute fully to their community.
For the children to reach their full potential, we work in partnership with you as parents, carers, and colleagues so that all of us understand what the children are learning and are able to achieve.

At Mount Street Primary School & Nursery we pride ourselves on the support we offer to all children, (aged 2 - 11) regardless of their needs or ability. We strive to ensure that all children are treated equally and are supported to make the best possible progress at school, within an inclusive environment.
Many of our staff have either expertise or personal experience in these particular areas - autistic spectrum disorder, behaviour difficulties, social and emotional, dyslexia, attachment, speech and language.
Plymouth uses an orange 'Local Offer icon' to show services that define themselves as suitable for children and young people with SEND. These are part of Plymouth's SEND Local Offer. We recommend that you contact the service provider to make sure the service is suitable for your child or young person.
