The Plymouth Information, Advice and Support for SEND Service (PIASS) provides information, advice and support relating to special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) for parents, carers, children and young people within the Plymouth Local Authority area.

This is a statutory service that is impartial, confidential, free and long-armed from the local authority and is sometimes called a SENDIASS (Special Educational Needs and Disability Information Advice and Support Service).
The dedicated team offers legally based and easily accessible information, advice and support about special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The team provides parents and carers of children and young people with SEND and children and young people independently to:
- Understand more about SEND support
- Develop good relationships with professionals
- Prepare well for meetings
- Express yours and your child's views
- Understand paperwork

SEND activities and events newsletter
PIASS produces three Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) guides each year containing activities and events for families in the Plymouth local authority area. These are published at the end of term two (Christmas holiday), term four (Easter holiday), and term six (summer holiday).
