You need to be:

  • over 18
  • calm, friendly, and approachable
  • be available for a morning or afternoon slot regularly
  • have lived experience, understanding or interest in SEND
  • be able to attend training sessions

What PIAS provides

  • full training and ongoing support
  • travel expenses can be reclaimed
  • be part of a caring, supportive team

What our volunteers say

I enjoy volunteering with PIAS as I have been on both sides of this service, the training is fun and informative although the legal training was a bit gruelling.

PIAS has supported my family many times over the years and most recently during my daughter's transition to adulthood.

I would recommend volunteering, not only does it give you a new network, training, knowledge and skills it gives you a sense of purpose and achievement and it looks good on your CV.

How to get in touch

PIAS promotes their volunteer recruitment on the Plymouth Information Advice and Support for SEND website and on our Facebook page.
