Enterprise programme

Imagine being your own boss. Are you aged 18-30? Want to start your own business? 

The Enterprise programme supports young people aged 18-30 who are unemployed or working less than 16 hours per week and are interested in self-employment. Young people are given support with their business plan, training, and funding and receive guidance from an experienced business mentor.

• Learn about all the different aspects of self-employment and how to write a business plan in our free course
• Access to an experienced business mentor for up to 3 years
• Gain access to our fantastic finance package
• Network with prospective business partners and customers
• Support to plan and test your ideas and with the opportunity to apply for funding
• £200 test marketing grant to help assess the viability of your business idea
• A range of dates and locations across Devon & Cornwall

Get Into Courses

Need some work experience to help you get a job? 

Get Into courses, eligible for those aged 16-25 who are unemployed, give young people intensive training and experience in a specific sector, such as sport or construction. The courses provide training from qualified professionals to help young people improve their teamwork and communication skills, boost their confidence, and develop their interview skills and CV at the same time. Help and support towards getting a job are also provided after the course finishes.

Get Started Programme

If you are 16-25 and out of work education or training,. We will give you the chance to take part in a week of activities with help from inspirational experts. You will work towards a group challenge while developing your skills and confidence.

What's more, Its completely free and won't affect your job seeker's allowance. We will even throw in lunch and cover your travel expenses.

We wrap up the course by celebrating everything you have achieved with a special event. It's a great way to finish the course with your new friends, and you will be able to invite family and friends to join in with you.

If you are unsure about anything, you can meet our staff before the course starts and ask us questions, deciding if it is right for you.

You will also benefit from 1-2-1 support to help you think about what you would like to do after the course finishes, having just gained your certificates and potentially a qualification.

We even like to catch up for a group reunion shortly after to help you think about your next steps and progress towards something positive.

Team programme

Meet new people and gain new skills, and it won't cost you anything.

The Team is a twelve-week personal development programme for young people aged 16-25. The team aims to uncover hidden talents, develop teamwork and communication skills, and increase confidence, motivation, and skills. As part of the programme, young people take on a community project of their choice, take part in an exciting and action-packed residential week, and get two weeks' work experience in a field of their interest. There is also an opportunity to gain nationally-recognised qualifications.

Achieve

These informal clubs can support young people in developing the skills and confidence needed to progress into a positive future.

Achieve, for those aged 13-19, provides young people with the opportunity to learn new skills and develop their confidence, making learning accessible, useful, and interesting. Young people can have fun, try new activities, and learn the skills they need to help finish their education, go to college, or get a job.

Volunteering opportunities

We are always in need of progression, business mentors, and anyone with marketing experience to volunteer with the outreach team. If you know of anyone who would like to get involved with the trust, please take a look at the volunteer pages on our website. 

Future Steps Programme

If you are 16-30, we run free 2-day workshops with interactive sessions to identify your aims and goals. There will be tailored support to apply for live vacancies, employability sessions to help ace that interview, and inside tips from local employers on how to land that new job.

 1-2-1 Mentoring support

We offer mentoring support both before and after programmes. So if we don't have suitable programmes, this is an alternative option.
