Katies Independent Support Service

Katie is a fully qualified dementia specialist, and she and her team offer a range of services, including respite and sitting services, shopping calls, prescription pickups, day clubs, and lunch trips. 

The team is fully DBS-checked.

Whether you would like a 1-on-1 activity in your own home or would rather join one of their day clubs, their aim is to make the experience friendly and fun. Their day clubs are like no other. A home-from-home experience that is fun and packed with lots of activities and trips, such as small walks, yummy lunches, coffee and cake afternoons, and music sessions, including the much-enjoyed silent disco. Not only can you enjoy a ladies' lunch trip out every Wednesday and Thursday, but there will also be a gentleman's lunch club coming very soon on Thursdays.

They also have transport, so they can visit local places, and when the weather is good, they enjoy days out and about to really get the most out of the time together. They listen to the needs and wants of their beneficiaries, so they are always open to trying new activities and going to new places. Meeting weekly means they are like one big extended family and really look forward to seeing each other. 

Dementia can leave people feeling lonely and isolated, but Katie and the team offer friendships and fun, putting the needs of the person first. They are here for you, a family for families, and a hand to hold to ensure that those affected by dementia can continue to thrive. We understand the importance of carers and loved ones, and their sitting service and day clubs offer those who care for people with dementia the opportunity to recharge with some quality time for themselves.

Cost

• 1-1 support starts at £15 per hour
• Day clubs start at £40 plus money for lunch
• Ladies and gentlemen, lunch starts at £30 plus money for lunch
• Respite is negotiable
