Moments Café
Moments Café is a social enterprise based in the heart of Plymouth City Centre. We offer a safe environment for people to meet, eat, and socialise, and all of our profits go towards Memory Matters.
We pride ourselves on good food, homemade on the premises. We like to make dishes that are familiar, hearty, and delicious! All our food is sourced locally in Devon and Cornwall, and we are always looking for new and exciting recipes. We like to cater to all our customers by including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options on our menu, as well as providing a selection of sweet treats for everyone to enjoy.
Moments Café also offers a Buy It Forward scheme. This means customers have the option to buy an item of food or drink to donate to someone who is either homeless or less fortunate than themselves. We then distribute our Buy It Forward vouchers to the Plymouth Food Bank, Hope for the Homeless, and Shekinah Mission, as well as the local street pastors. People are then able to come into the café with their vouchers and redeem a hot meal and a drink.
The café is wheelchair- and pushchair-friendly, and we also have highchairs that are available to use. Customers are able to connect to our free Wi-Fi while they're in the café.
Memory Matters Hub
The Memory Matters Hub is on the first floor (above the cafe) and is staffed by Memory Matters CIC, specialists in providing workshops, respite, and activity sessions for people living with dementia.
We understand that you may be worried about your or a loved one's memory, may be waiting for a diagnosis, may have questions about what to do next, or just need some information about specific symptoms. We are here to help.
We provide on-the-spot free support to anyone needing more information or support in anything to do with memory loss or dementia. We are able to link you in with services from the hub with our support.
Whether you are
- concerned that you may have difficulties with your memory but have not yet seen anyone.
- are on a waiting list for a specialist assessment that could lead to a diagnosis of dementia.
- have already received a diagnosis
Our dementia advisors can help you find services you may need or people who can give you specialist advice.
We can spend time with you, helping you to understand what is happening, offering practical advice, and looking at things you can do to maintain your wellbeing. Whether you are a person living with dementia or are supporting someone who has, we can help.
We have connections with lots of other organisations, so if we don't know or you need something we don't offer, we can help you find someone who can.
