Our curriculum is relevant to our pupils' current needs and future aspirations. It focuses on the core subjects—the humanities and languages—and on developing competence in and love of the arts. Fostering independence, problem-solving, and creative thinking underpins our pedagogical approach.
Wider curriculum opportunities are equally important, and this includes our vision for all children to explore and be curious about themselves and the world around them.
We are passionate advocates of all-through education. Through this, we are able to serve our community and families, ensuring an excellent educational experience with continuity and progression. All-through education offers many unique opportunities, including shared experiences, powerful role models, and the in-depth knowledge of subject specialists.

Millbay Academy is an inclusive all-through School, where all teachers are teachers of pupils with special educational needs & disabilities. We deliver a curriculum and create an environment that meets the needs of every student at Millbay Academy. We ensure that every student with special educational needs and/or disability makes the best progress possible. We foster and promote effective working partnerships with parents/carers, pupils, and outside agencies. We listen to the voice of all pupils.
Plymouth uses an orange 'Local Offer icon' to show services that define themselves as suitable for children and young people with SEND. These are part of Plymouth's SEND Local Offer. We recommend that you contact the service provider to make sure the service is suitable for your child or young person.
