We are a school that is a member of the Horizon Academy Trust. Over the past few years, there have been a lot of developments, including moving into a brand new KS2 building and an extensive curriculum redesign.
We are a very happy school with a warm and friendly family atmosphere where dedicated staff, governors, and parents provide a stimulating and challenging learning environment that helps our children thrive.
We very much believe in the uniqueness of each individual, be they a child or an adult, and strive to create a learning community where everyone is respected and works in partnership with each other. Our aim is to provide an experience of school that is full of enjoyable and valuable memories that last a lifetime while, at the same time, enabling each child to reach their full potential in their learning, basic skills, and all-round development.
Our Preschool
Pomphlett Primary Preschool boasts a safe, attractive learning environment and modern resources with the aim of being at the at the top of its class. The preschool is led by a fully qualified teacher and managed by specially selected preschool staff. Our aim is to provide a rich, stimulating, and high-quality preschool for 3-year-old children.
Based in its own on-site building, the preschool is closely linked to the main school and benefits from all school facilities, as well as our proven, high-quality educational provision. Preschool staff are employed and led by the school and work according to the school's high standards and expectations, as well as its strong values and warm and welcoming family-centred ethos.

We are an inclusive school and believe that all children have a right to be educated alongside their peers and have a great deal to offer others through their individuality.
We welcome all children into our school and would not seek to exclude a child because of any perceived 'difficulties' they may have. It is likely that every child will at some time or other need extra support with their learning and we have several approaches we use to to cater for this.
These can range from a little additional homework at one end of the spectrum to an Education, Health and Care Plan with additional adult one-to-one support at the other.
We try to ensure that whatever the additional support we provide, it is appropriate, purposeful and timely.
Plymouth uses an orange 'Local Offer icon' to show services that define themselves as suitable for children and young people with SEND. These are part of Plymouth's SEND Local Offer. We recommend that you contact the service provider to make sure the service is suitable for your child or young person.
